“Tulshi Vivah”
Gayatri Pariwar – Yug Nirman of Los Angeles celebrated “Tulshi Vivah” on Saturday November 04, 2006, at 4:00 PM at Gayatri Temple. More than 350 devotes attended this religious festival. Tulsi's wedding to Vishnu Bhagwan (or Krishna in form of Shaligram) is a very auspicious celebration. Gayatri Mandir observes this celebration every year. Sunitaben and Kuldeep Bajaj became the parent of “Tulshi”. They provided a beautiful Entrance gate, Marriage Madap and other decoration to highlights this special festival. Our temple Shastri”s wife Arunaben Bhatt and our Trustee Chitraben Jadhav spend many ours to prepared and decorate our Bride (Tulshi) and Broom (Krishna). Belaben and Dr. Ashokbhai Amin became parent of Krishna.
The program started with Ganesh Pooja, performed by our temple Shastri Mr. Indravadanbhai Bhatt at 4:00 PM. Around 4:30 PM, Jan arrived at temple with colorfully decorated carriage bearing Krishna. Both sides of people dance for few hours. Jan was welcome by Mr. and Mrs. Bajaj and provided with snacks of Samosa, Khaman and Mild Mix. The marriage ceremony started at 6:00 PM and completed by 7:15 PM. After the marriage ceremony, Maha Prasad was served. Jay Bharat provided Dinner and Snacks.
{Tulsi was married to demon king Jalandhar. But she prayed to Lord Vishnu that her demon husband would be protected, with the result that no God was able to harm him. However on the request of the other Gods, Lord Vishnu took the form of Jalandhar and stayed with the unsuspecting Tulsi. When the truth emerged after Jalandhar's death, Vrinda cursed Vishnu and turned him to stone (Shaligram) and collapsed. From her body emerged the tulsi plant. That is why Vishnu pooja is considered incomplete without Tulsi leaves.}

What Love(Prembhav) can do in your life?
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat. "Is the man of the house home?", they asked. "No", she replied. "He's out. "Then we cannot come in", they replied. In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in" "We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she asked.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth(laxmi)," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love(Prembhav)." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth(laxmi). Let him come and fill our home with wealth (laxmi)!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love (Prembhav)? Our home will then be filled with love (Prembhav)!"
"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife.
"Go out and invite Love (Prembhav) to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love (Prembhav) ? Please come in and be our guest."
Love (Prembhav) got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth (laxmi) and Success: "I only invited Love (Prembhav), Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth (laxmi) or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love(Prembhav), wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love (Prembhav), there is also Wealth (laxmi) and Success!!!!!!"

Om bhur bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam
Bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodayat
The presiding deity of the Gayatri Mantra is Lord Sun. Gayatri is personified as a goddess, the consort of Brahma (Sarasvati), and mother of the Vedas.
The Gayatri Mantra is never chanted for the purposes of material gains, physical or otherwise. Its very invocation concludes with an appeal to the pure Consciousness to illumine more our heart-mind. It is a prayer unto the Self to unveil itself and come to manifest as pure wisdom in our life.
The Gayatri Mantra is one of the oldest available Divine hymns.
In the ancient Vedic literature, this mantra is dedicated to the deity Sun. This mantra is sung in the Vedic-meter called Gayatri. This is considered to be the most important mantra written out in Gayatri meter, and therefore, by tradition, this mantra has come to be known as Gayatri.
It has actually been observed that by the repetition of this Gayatri Mantra with the right understanding of its sacred meaning, the ordinary negative tendencies in the human mind can be erased out to a large extent. It is believed that for any one frightened in the dark, immediate chanting of the Gayatri Mantra is advised to get over the nervousness of the fright.
It is also believed that on starting any important and great work if a person detects some bad omen, that person must immediately sit down and chant eleven times the Gayatri. If on starting again, he meets with a new set of bad omens then he is to sit down again and chant the Gayatri for sixteen times, to remove the effects of the bad omen encountered.
The deeper philosophic meaning of Gayatri:
In our inner life, the sun represents the light-giver, the illuminator of all experiences, the ATMAN(Soul). This pure consciousness in us, the inner centre of our personality around which the matter envelopments function with mathematical precision- just as around the sun the entire solar system revolves- is being invoked to shine more and more in our intellect.

GURUDEVPt. Sri Ram Sharma Acharya THE saint-scholar-philosopher par excellence Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya is the founder of Shantikunj, which has emerged over the years as a unique center and fountain-head of a global movement for moral - spiritual regeneration and the center for inter communion of science and spirituality in the light of glorious Indian heritage. Born in a village Anvalkheda; near Agra, UP in India, in 1911, he took unusual interest in spiritual devotion and social services right from childhood. Great freedom fighter and founder of Banaras Hindu University, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, solemnized his Yagyopavit (sacred thread) ceremony and initiated him in Gayatri Mantra in 1923.
At the age of 15, his Spiritual Guru (initiator), a great Himalayan Yogi Swami Sarveshwaranandji appeared (in astral form) in his vision during worship. At his guidance, he performed twenty-four lakhs, i.e. 2.4 million, Gayatri Mantras per year for twenty-four years. He visited Himalayas four times for higher spiritual attainments. He also took active part in India's freedom movement.
